What is an Online Doctor?
The rise of the internet and more recently the government guidance to reduce social contact in the light of COVID-19 means more and more people are accessing medical guidance and consultations from our online doctors, through online video consultations or calls. Our online doctor provide expert, confidential advice connecting with you using a range of platforms – whatever suits you.
Online Doctor Appointments Made Easy
We make seeing an online doctor easy. You can book online by choosing a date and time for your consultation and it’s your choice whether to video chat or a voice call. Our online doctors then offer you a consultation using a secure video link or telephone call. They will have access to your medical records on the call.
Just like in a physical consultation, the online doctor will discuss your symptoms. As it’s a video consultation, they can also take a look at any affected areas or listen out for symptoms. Where medication is needed for you to get better, the doctor on the call can issue a prescription.

How do I get an online prescription?
If appropriate, your GP will prescribe medication during your consultation.
Collect your prescription and medication from the pharmacy or we can arrange for prescriptions to be delivered to your home.
Who are the online doctors?
Your care will be overseen by a registered General Medical Council clinician. Our doctors have a wealth of experience with general practice across general, women’s, men’s and children’s health and wellbeing.
What if I need to see a doctor in person?
We are still providing a face-to-face service but only when this is absolutely necessary. Your doctor will explain this to you during your consultation. We also provide additional services if needed such as diagnostic services.
Sometimes the online consultation may lead to the need for a physical face-to-face consultation. The Mews Practice will arrange this at no additional charge.
